01.17.2015 Tampa Bay Lightning versus Colorado Avalanche game day coverage

Amalie Arena and the Tampa Bay Lightning (28-14-4) play host to the Colorado Avalanche (19-17-9) this evening as the second game of a three-game homestand before the All-Star break.

The Avalanche has 47 points after 45 games played this season, good for 5th place in the Central Division but a drastic fall-off compared to where they were at this time last season; target=”_blank”>they were 30-12-5 with 65 points and battling the St. Louis Blues for 2nd place while Chicago ran away with the division. At the moment, they are trying to stay above the division cellar.
The Lightning are 7-3-0 in their past 10 games, the Avalanche are 6-3-1 in the same span of games. Avalanche forward (and former Bolts) Alex Tanguary leads the Avs in scoring with 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists), while Jarome Iginla shares the team lead in goal-scoring with him (13 goals, 17 assists).
