In this Tuesday edition of Quick Strikes, a list of potential breakout stars, some commentary (and a cool video) on Steven Stamkos, and the welcoming of a new member of SB Nation's NHL staff.

  • There are some familiar names on Lyle Richardson's list of potential breakout stars for all 30 teams in the NHL. [Bleacher Report]
  • There was some shocking news yesterday, as the Montreal Canadiens announced that the team will go with four alternate captains for the upcoming season. Andrei Markov and Tomas Plekanec will be full-time while P.K. Subban and Max Pacioretty will alternate with the A. [ESPN]
  • There is a report that "24/7 Road to the Winter Classic" will move to Epix. The cable network will also produce a show leading up to the Stadium Series later in the season. [ESPN]
