  • Vasy. Vasya. "Hey you". Andrei Vasilevskiy - or however he's spelling his name this week - will get to play for the Tampa Bay Lightning soon. Very soon. Perhaps even as soon as...soon? [Tampa Bay Times]
  • Men and their sons, boys and their dads, perhaps even a brother here or there. It's all about male bonding right now for the Lightning. The question that keeps coming up, however, is when do their moms get their turn? Might I suggest a trip to Manhattan for some hockey and shopping? [Tampa Tribune]
  • If you haven't seen the Dump Truck's "Hot Paquette" meme (yes, they're talking about Cedric Paquette here), then you're obviously not following the right people on Twitter. Also: goalie duels and pissy hockey players are involved. Somehow. Trust me. Seriously. I means it. [Tampa Bay Lightning]
  • Syracuse Crunch owner Howard Dolgon will be hosting a live fan forum at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena at 6:15 pm ET before the Crunch game versus the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (the New York Islanders AHL team). Come one, come all. Stop in and have your voice heard. [@syrhockey]
  • Sidney Crosby explains that he's not the boring guy people seem to think he is. He's a bit of a homebody, minds his own business, and likes to avoid crowds.... I could go on, but you'll have to ask him to exchange recipes on your own. But don't worry about that, Sid, because I don't have much of a life outside of hockey, either. [USA Today]
  • The World Cup of Hockey is going to happen, everyone! And it's going to happen on ESPN! No, I'm not off in some dreamland - ESPN's decided it likes hockey again. This one time, anyways. I wonder what Lebron James will have to say about that. [SB Nation - NHL]
  • Apparently, there's more than one place to build a hockey arena - and without an NBA team involved, too. Though, will British Columbians be able to avoid stopping in downtown Seattle to shop, and instead head to Tukwila? If this is legit, then we'll be hearing more from Commissioner Gary Bettman on this in the future, I'm sure. [KING 5 News]
  • If Vegas gets an NHL team, they may decide to not use "Las Vegas" in the name of the club and go with "Nevada" instead. Sort of like how the Phoenix Coyotes became the Arizona Coyotes. Yes. Really. Go look on if you don't believe me. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
  • Yes, Evander Kane showed up to a team meeting wearing a track suit when everyone else was wearing a suit and tie. And, yes, he was a healthy scratch in last night's Winnipeg Jets loss to the Vancouver Canucks because of it. Now can we all finally get to the part where the Jets trade Kane and be done with this ridiculousness? [Winnipeg Free Press]
  • P.K. Subban was fined $2,000 as supplementary discipline for diving after being warned about it before. Huh. Okay. Well, I think I'll just leave this here.... []
