So, who starts in net?
That's the question and the narrative for this afternoon as we're both reflective on yesterday's loss and the game for today. Andrei Vasilevskiy was initially tabbed to start in net this evening again the Anaheim Ducks but a funny thing happened: Ben Bishop struggled greatly, allowing 3 goals on 9 shots in 20 minutes of play.
Andrei Vasilevskiy saw 20 shots in his 36 minutes of play and stopped 19 of them. While the 20 year old netminder is more accustomed to back-to-back starts (by way of the AHL this season), it might be more appropriate that Bishop gets the start in net. He's the fresher netminder and the club is facing the best team in the NHL this season (76 points on the season sort of underlines that "best" title).
We'll find out the starter near game time.
It's the return to Tampa for Nate Thompson and Eric Brewer. Thompson was moved in a night of deals last June and Brewer was dealt from the Lightning this past November. Thompson has 11 points (3 goals and 8 assists) in 53 games. Brewer got hurt almost outright with Anaheim; he's played 4 games with the Ducks and has an assist.
