Quick Strikes for Sunday, March 1

Lots of moves ahead of the trade deadline in your Sunday linkset.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

  • Dale Tallon continues a very strange deadline for the Florida Panthers shipping out Tomas Fleischmann for Dany Heatley and a pick. [Litterbox Cats]
  • The Chicago Blackhawks are definitely going for it, even with the injury to Patrick Kane. After adding Kimmo Timonen they've also acquired Antoine Vermette -- and not cheaply. [Second City Hockey]
  • The Carolina Hurricanes have traded D Tim Gleason to the Washington Capitals, who, like many teams, are bolstering their blue line for a playoff run. [Canes Country]
  • He's not been moved (yet), but Zack Kassian is a name that continues to come up in trade rumors, some of them involving the Tampa Bay Lightning. [Canucks Army]
  • Pascal Dupuis on the game and his health. [The Player's Tribune]
  • The NHL moves ahead towards the trade deadline; the KHL moves towards the playoffs and the Gagarin Cup. Here's a preview for the Eastern Conference. [The Faceoff Circle]
  • Rochester American's D Mark Pysyk was released from the hospital after being treated following a collapse at a pickup basketball game. [Democrat & Chronicle]
  • Kristers Gudlevskis has had it rough since Andrei Vasilevskiy was called up to the Lightning on a semi-permanent basis. Last night was a major exception, as he stopped 38/39 shots and recorded an assist in a 4-1 Syracuse Crunch win. [Bolt Prospects]
