At the end of their current three-game homestand at Amalie Arena, the Tampa Bay Lightning (40-20-6) will play their third-to-last regular season game against a Western Conference opponent tonight when they take on the Dallas Stars (29-26-10).
The Stars are fading from the wild card race, having only a 1.1% chance to make the playoffs according to Sports Club Stats. They have 68 points on the season, which leaves them eight behind the Winnipeg Jets who hold the final wild card berth in the West.
With a win tonight, Tampa Bay will set a new franchise record for wins-at-home in a season.
