The marathon that has been the 2014-2015 NHL regular season draws to a close today, and that last game of the Tampa Bay Lightning (49-24-8) season is a vital one for the Boston Bruins (41-27-13).
No Atlantic Division team's final seeding in the playoffs has been locked in, that will be settled with the final scores today. While the Lightning still can place 1st overall in the Atlantic Division, it depends on winning tonight as well as the Montreal Canadiens losing. The Bruins are in a similar situation - to make the playoffs at all, they need to win tonight as well as hope the Ottawa Senators or Pittsburgh Penguins lose. The fate of the Senators will be known before game-time tonight, while scoreboard-watching will be necessary with the Penguins and Canadiens.
