That's a wrap!

-Defenseman Luke Witkowski had his first multi-goal game of his professional career Friday night, scoring two goals (his second and third of the season).

-The Crunch are being very cagey about an injury suffered by team captain Mike Angelidis Friday night (a hockey team being cagey about an injury is shocking, I know). Angelidis did not finish the game Friday, nor did he play Saturday or Sunday. The fans are not feeling very optimistic about seeing their captain play again soon after multiple reports of a hospital visit post-injury and several different doctor visits in the aftermath of the apparent lower-body injury.

-In the absence of Angelidis, the Crunch dressed three alternate captains over the weekend: Witkowski, Jeff Tambellini (who scored twice Sunday), and Matt Taormina.

(This is the way it should be, by the way. Three alternates. No one else should wear the "C" this season, regardless of  how long Angelidis is out. I mean it. No one. No one else deserves it. Don't. Just. Don't.)

-Defenseman Jake Dotchin potted his first goal of the season Saturday night.

-Defenseman Joey Mormina, who was traded to the Rochester Americans before the AHL trade deadline, returned to the War Memorial Saturday night as a member of the opposing team for the first time since the AHL Eastern Conference Final in 2013.

-Rookie defenseman Anthony DeAngelo was a healthy scratch yet again Saturday night. He's been healthy scratched seven times this season due to a coach's decision.

-Forward Tanner Richard did not dress Sunday night. It is assumed that he was hurt Saturday.

Other transactions, player, and organizational news:

-The Crunch are again participating in a Change for Change initiative this season, and are hoping to raise even more than last season with an extended campaign. Change for Change is an initiative created by Crunch Captain Mike Angelidis and his teammates that aims to raise money for pediatric cancer research at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and help improve the odds for children with cancer.
