Lightning announce 2016-17 rookie tournament in Coral Springs

Coral Springs is located directly west of Pompamo Beach, directly east of some of the Florida everglades, and directly at the beginning of the Tampa Bay Lightning's organization's season for 2016-17. It was announced today by the organization that the club (along with the Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators and Washington Capitals) will participate in a rookie tournament next month at IceDen in Coral Springs.

The roster of participants for the Lightning organization has not been announced yet, but we should expect seeing members of the 2016 draft class, first-year pros like Brayden Point and perhaps James Mullin . While we don't know when exactly the Bolts will announce the roster, we do know it's coming in the days ahead and long before the September 17th start of the camp and tournament.

LIGHTNING TO PARTICIPATE IN 2016 ROOKIE TOURNAMENT IN CORAL SPRINGS

TAMPA BAY -€” The Tampa Bay Lightning will participate in a four-team rookie tournament at the Florida Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, Florida from Saturday, September 17 through Tuesday, September 20, the team announced today.  The event is free and open to the public.

Also participating in the tournament will be the Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators and the Washington Capitals.  Tampa Bay's roster will be announced at a later date but will feature some of the top young talent in the organization's system.  The annual tournament was hosted by the Lightning last year at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.
