It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Nikita Kucherov is Raw Charge’s Thunder of the Month.

Kucherov had a monstrous month of February. In 10 games, Kucherov had seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 10 games. We should point out though that he was pointless in a stretch of four games in the middle of the month, but Kucherov responded the way all great goal scorers do after a bit of a dry spell: two four-point games, including a hat trick.

With Steven Stamkos out of the lineup since November, Kucherov has been shouldering the burden of putting points on the board every night as the team hasn’t lived up to what anyone was expecting of them this season.

Despite missing eight games this season, Kucherov leads the team in points and is on pace to be the Lightning’s top scorer for the second straight season. In 57 games this season, Kucherov has 28 goals and 35 assists for 63 points. He’s been prolific on the man advantage: 12 power-play goals and 23 points. Furthermore, Kucherov has scored five game-winning goals this season.

Before Stamkos went down, we got a window into the possibility of what a Kucherov-Stamkos pairing could be. We’re expecting them to be reunited once the captain is at full strength. But for now, it’s the Nikita Kucherov Show. Hope you’re turning in!
