Here’s your Tampa Bay Lightning prospect roundup for the week! I’m on vacation so let’s get right into it.

Ontario Hockey League

#12 - Christopher Paquette (F) - 1G, 1A, +1
Peterborough Petes - 21-30-3-3
9th in Eastern Conference, 6 points out of playoffs

Feb. 15th: vs Mississauga Steelheads
W 6-1 - 1G, 1A, +2

Feb 16th: @ Kingston Frontenacs
L 2-1 - 0G, 0A, -1

Paquette had a good game in the Petes win, but the team has a hill to climb to be in playoff contention.

#12 - Boris Katchouk (F) / #14 Taylor Raddysh (F)
Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds - 47-6-2-2
1st in Western Conference, 14 points ahead of 2nd.

Feb. 14th: @ Saginaw Spirit
L 6-5 SO - 1G, 1A, +1 / 1G, 1A
Feb. 16th: vs Hamilton Bulldogs
W 10-0 - 0G, 2A, +2 / 1G, 1A, +2

Feb. 17th: vs Sarnia Sting
W 7-1 - 0G, 1A / 1G, 2A, +3

Despite a surprising loss to Saginaw the Greyhounds have all but officially clinched the Hamilton Spectator Trophy as regular season champions.

#12 - Alexei Lipanov (F)
Sudbury Wolves - 14-36-6-0
10th in Eastern Conference, 19 points out of the playoffs

Feb. 16th: vs Oshawa Generals
L 6-0 - 0G, 0A, -1
Feb. 17th: vs Hamilton Bulldogs
L 8-4 - No Points

Losing the week 14-4 puts a damper on things, hopefully Lipanov can find a more exciting spring by spending some time with Syracuse.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

#89 - Otto Somppi (F)
Halifax Mooseheads - 37-13-6-1
2nd overall, 6 points out of 1st

Feb. 16th: vs Moncton Wildcats
W 12-5 - 2G, 1A

The Mooseheads only played one game last week, but it was a doozy. Three points for Somppi and two for the Mooseheads, keeps them ahead of third but farther back of first.

Western Hockey League

#21 - Brett Howden (F) / #76 - Oleg Susonov (D)
1G, 6A, +3 / 0G, 1A
Moose Jaw Warriors - 44-11-1-2
1st in East Division, 2 points ahead of 2nd.

Feb. 14th: @ Regina Pats
W 6-3 - 0G, 2A, +3 / 0G, 1A, +1
Feb. 16th: vs Regina Pats
L 5-3 - 0G, 3A, +1 / 0G, 0A, -1
Feb. 18th: @ Regina Pats
L 4-2 - 1G, 1A, -1 / No Points

Seven points from Howden caps off a week of games against Regina. The Warriors are just slightly ahead of of the Swift Current Broncos for first in the division.

#3 - Libor Hajek (D)
Regina Pats - 32-24-5-1
3rd in East Division, 2 points ahead of 1st wild card team.

Feb. 14th: vs Moose Jaw Warriors
L 6-3 - 0G, 1A, -3
Feb. 16th: @ Moose Jaw Warriors
W 5-3 - 0G, 1A
Feb. 18th: vs Moose Jaw Warriors
W 4-2 - 0G, 1A, +2

The Regina Pats are the Memorial Cup hosts, so they have a spot in the national championship locked up. Right now they would play either the Swift Current Broncos or Moose Jaw Warriors in the first round, depending on which one finishes second. For the Pats best chance to go far in the playoffs they should finish with the first wild card spot and work their way through the Central Division - they would be first in that division - rather than the super teams of the Broncos or Warriors.

#25 - Cal Foote (D)
Kelowna Rockets - 35-18-4-2
1st in BC Division, 1 point ahead of 2nd.

Feb. 12th: vs Victoria Royals
W 5-4 - 0G, 2A, +1
Feb. 14th: vs Red Deer Rebels
L 4-1 - 0G, 0A, -1
Feb. 16th: @ Kamloops Blazers
W 2-1 - 0G, 2A
Feb. 17th: vs Edmonton Oil Kings
L 3-2 SO - 1G, 1A, +1

The Rockets have a small hold on first in the division, and Foote has been a key piece on the team.

USHL

#19 - Cole Guttman (F)
Dubuque Fighting Saints - 20-14-6-2
3rd in Eastern Conference, 2 points out of 2nd

Guttman is on IR for the foreseeable future.

#14 - Nicklaus Perbix (D) - 0G, 2A, -1
Omaha Lancers - 28-11-2-1
1st in Western Conference, 5 points ahead of 2nd.

Feb. 14th: @ Tri-City Storm
W 1-0 - No Points
Feb. 16th: @ Lincoln Stars
W 4-3 - No Points
Feb. 17th: vs Lincoln Stars
L 4-2 - 0G, 2A, -1

The Lancers have built themselves a good gap to keep first place. There’s fewer than 20 games left in the USHL season.

High School

#26 - Samuel Walker - 1G, 2A
Edina High School

Feb. 15th: @ Eden Prarie
W 6-3 - 1G, 1A
Feb. 17th: vs Wayzata
W 4-0 - 0G, 1A

A slow week on the ice was topped off by Walker being named a finalist for the Minnesota Hockey ‘Mr. Hockey’ Award, awarded to the top high school senior hockey player.

NCAA

#33 - Kris Oldham (G)
U. Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks
Overall: 15-14-1 / Conference: 8-12-0

Feb. 16th: vs North Dakota
W 6-3 - Did Not Play
Feb. 17th: vs North Dakota
L 3-0 - Did Not Play

The Mavericks are 7th in NCHC, and just three points out of 6th.

#20 - Ross Colton (F) - 1G, 0A, -1
U. Vermont Catamounts
Overall: 9-17-6 / Conference: 6-11-5

Feb. 16th: vs Northeastern
L 4-3 - 1G, 0A
Feb. 17th: vs Northeastern
L 4-1 - 0G, 0A, -1

The Catamounts are 8th in Hockey East, holding home ice against Massachusetts.

#18 - Ryan Lohin (F) - 1G, 1A
U. Mass-Lowell River Hawks
Overall: 16-16 / Conference: 10-12

Feb. 16th: @ Providence
L 5-2 - 1G, 0A
Feb. 17th: vs Providence
L 3-1 - 0G, 1A

Two points in two losses for Colton. The Riverhawks may slip down the Hockey East standings if they keep this up.

#16 - Johnathan MacLeod (D) - 0G, 0A, -1
Boston U. Terriers
Overall: 16-13-3 / Conference: 11-8-3

Feb. 16th: @ Connecticut
L 5-4 - 0G, 0A, -1
Feb. 17th: @ Merrimack
W 3-1 - No Points

The Terriers are 4th in Hockey East, giving them a bye to the second round.

#20 - Ryan Zuhlsdorf (D)
U. Minnesota Golden Gophers
Overall: 14-15-3 / Conference: 8-11-2-1

No games last week.
