The best thing about being invited to an exclusive party is looking down your nose and lobbing disparaging remarks toward the poor schlubs who didn’t get in. The second best thing is looking down your nose and lobbing disparaging remarks toward the schlubs who did get in but were quickly and forcibly removed once it was learned they weren’t (ahem) the “right kind” of people. Or so I’d imagine. I don’t get invited to parties.
If the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are an annual party, half the invitees are escorted out every year before they even finish their first shrimp cocktail (I imagine really good parties serve shrimp cocktail; again, I wouldn’t know). In some cases, it happens so quickly and decisively, it makes you wonder how they even got there in the first place.
This week’s question is: who do you think didn’t really deserve to be in the playoffs? You can base your answer on their momentary presence in the postseason, or maybe what you felt was a fairly mediocre performance during the regular season. Or if you’re the Florida Panthers, the poor schlubs who just barely didn’t get in (aka last year’s Tampa Bay Lightning), maybe it’s a combination of those things plus bitterness over finishing one point behind two teams eliminated in the first round and two behind another one.
Whatever you like; it’s a poll and it’s your subjective opinion. If you feel like you need to say more, fire away in the comments!
