On the last day of the 2020 NHL All-Star Game, teams formed of players from each division faced each other in the 3-on-3 All-Star Tournament. In the first game of the evening team Atlantic Division, with Tampa Bay Lightning’s Victor Hedman and Andrei Vasilevskiy, met team Metropolitan Division.

Victor Hedman found himself on the line with David Pastrnak and Jack Eichel, while Andrei Vasilevskiy stayed on the bench during the first period. Atlantic opened the score early in the first period when Pastrnak finished a give-and-go combination with Hedman. A few moments later Shea Weber doubled a score after assists from Anthony Duclair and Tyler Bertuzzi. After that team Metropolitan Division put more pressure on Frederik Andersen’s net and scored four consecutive goals, but Atlantic managed to tie the game before break. Duclair scored his first goal of the game and David Pastrnak scored his second after another assist from Hedman.

Andrei Vasilevskiy took a place in the net in the second period. He allowed a goal after Nico Hischier shot after two minutes of game, but since that moment didn’t make any mistake. Jonathan Huberdeau tied the game again for team Atlantic and two minutes later they took a lead after Victor Hedman’s goal. Before the end of the game, both Pastrnak and Duclair scored their third goals of the game and Hedman added another assists. Team Atlantic advanced to the final after winning 9-5 over Metropolitan, Vasilevskiy stopped six of seven shots and Victor Hedman had one goal and three helpers, assisting on all three goals by David Pastrnak.

In the other semifinal team Pacific Division defeated the Central division. As it was in the previous game, the score was tied before the intermission, but Pacific smashed their opponents in the second half, scoring six goals. Tomas Hertl scored four goals and Leon Draisaitl scored three times, bringing their team to the final game.

In the final game the Atlantic division once again took an early lead in the game. This time it was Hedman who netted the puck into the net after a David Pastrnak pass. Shortly afterwards Huberdeau scored his second goal of the evening, giving his team a 2-0 lead. Team Pacific answered with a Max Pacioretty goal, but Atlantic retrieved a two-goal advantage with one minute to go in the first period when David Pastrnak scored another goal to make it 3-1.

Vasilevskiy returned to the net in the second period and had a rough start of the game allowing two goals from Elias Pettersson and Leon Draisaitl within two minutes. Atlantic division answered with a first goal of tournament for Tyler Bertuzzi, but Pacific quickly returned to the game: Elias Pettersson tied the score for the second time in the period and Tomas Hertl scored the game-winning goal with two minutes to go. Andrei Vasilevskiy didn’t have a great night, allowing four goals on 11 shots, but made another spectacular save, denying Connor McDavid on a breakaway.

The Pacific Division players got the $1 million prize for winning the 2020 3-on-3 NHL All-Star Tournament and David Pastrnak had been named MVP of the tournament after scoring four goals and two assists in two games. Victor Hedman had two goals and three assists in the same amount of games.
