The line of Yanni Gourde/Blake Coleman/ Barclay Goodrow has been really good in this series. Unfortunately they haven’t had many goals on the scoresheet to show for all of their hard work. That’s changed in Game Four as they accounted for the first two goals of the game.
Scoring the first one was Barclay Goodrow. Picked up at the deadline he had not found the back of the net yet in a Tampa Bay Lightning uniform. On Monday, he ended that scoreless drought.
There was nothing fancy about this goal. The Lightning cause a disruption behind the net after Joonas Korpisalo stopped it. Blake Coleman tried to squeeze a shot in that is denied, but it caroomed out to Korpisalo’s right. Goodrow was there all alone and he was able to shuffle it off of the goaltender’s blocker and into the back of the net.
Four minutes later he would add an assist on Yanni Gourde’s tip-in goal as the Lightning took a 2-0 lead early in the second period.
