At the 12:53 mark of the first period, Nikita Kucherov wired a wrist shot past Braydon Holtby to record the first playoff goal for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2020 NHL Qualifying Round.

It’s Kucherov’s 30th playoff goal in just 66 games. Brayden Point had the helper.

Point grabbed the puck along the boards after a discombobulated line change from the Capitals. He made a nice move to get into the zone and then dished it Kucherov. The Russian forward drifted wide with the puck and then snapped a nice shot just under the bar.

The Lightning’s top duo, along with Ondrej Palat, has been the best line in the game and it’s nice to see them rewarded for their solid play early in the game.
