Good morning folks. Welcome to what should be an interesting day for the Tampa Bay Lightning. A week ago it looked like the only thing we would be talking about is Steven Stamkos. That has changed just a little.
While we will still be talking about that, there are other topics now on the table when the free agency floodgates open at noon Eastern Time. There are rumors that the Lightning have signed Jake Guentzel. There is also expectations that a Victor Hedman extension will be announced.
On top of that, there is still some cap space to fill in the holes in the line-up, so there should be some short term deals announced for the Lightning. The Syracuse Crunch will also be looking to fill out their roster, something that got rolling yesterday when the organization acquired a kid that was born in Tampa.
Around the league it sounds like the Panthers signed Sam Reinhart to an eight-year extension while Patrick Kane signed a one-year, bonus-heavy deal in Detroit.
We will keep you updated on all of the transactions throughout the day. As always, double-check who is reporting a deal, don’t fall for the fake insiderrrrrzzz.
