An aspect for game 2: Ice surface conditions
Friday night is an event night; if not Friday, then Saturday night. Things happening Friday makes perfect sense. The end of the standard work week and less obligations for the masses on Saturday meaning you can rock all night and party every day) all contribute.
That social characteristic could play into today's game. That's not to suggesting the Lightning or Islanders through responsibility aside to go overboard last night... It is to touch on the fact Amalie Arena had other obligations as a venue. Local FM station 98 Rock hosted a concert Friday and that brings into question just what to expect for this afternoon's game.
Will ice conditions be okay today? Will we see flaws brought on by the conversion of the building form ice-rink to concert-venue and back again? It's something to keep an eye on - antics caused by the ice surface - to keep an eye on during today's matinee.
