Brad Richards officially bought out by New York Rangers

Per several NHL sources, the New York Rangers have opted to buy out the contract of former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brad Richards:

According to @Real_ESPNLeBrun, ex-#TBLightning star Brad Richards has been bought out by the #Rangers.

Speculation will begin about where Richards will head next -- like Vincent Lecavalier before him, he's still a useful NHLer just not at the price he was costing against the cap.

However, with the current depth chart of quality centermen in the Lightning organization, a return to Tampa Bay seems unlikely.
