Byron Froese hits 200 AHL games
The newcomer to #TampaCuse land hit 200 career American Hockey League games when the Crunch played at Toronto on Sunday.
There are quite a few players on the Syracuse Crunch roster with approaching career milestones. In celebration of those milestones, Raw Charge has asked our new graphics artist, RxlandS, to pair with Crunch photographer Scott Thomas so that we can give proper recognition to those in Syracuse.
First up is a milestone that Byron Froese hit this past weekend: the forward played 200 AHL games this past Sunday when the Crunch was, interestingly enough, at his old team in Toronto.
Froese’s AHL career has spanned four different teams. He started with the Rockford IceHogs in 2011 before moving onto the San Antonio Rampage, the Toronto Marlies, and then finally the Crunch. Froese was acquired by the Tampa Bay Lightning from the Toronto organization prior to the 2017 NHL trade deadline, so reaching that milestone in Toronto must have been a little bittersweet for the Crunch’s new dynamic scorer.
Froese has netted a total of 105 points over the course of his AHL career. He is currently tied for third in goals scored this season in the AHL, 27 goals in 53 games played.
Congratulations, Byron!
