AHL Calder Cup Final Game 3 preview / open thread: Norfolk at Toronto

Tonight’s the night for Admirals hockey. And tonight’s the night to see if the boys can go into Toronto and play like they’re at home at Scope. The Marlies plan to make this a hostile environment. Of course the Ads are 6 and 1 on the road in the playoffs and 13 of The Twenty-Eight (that’s what we’re calling it now, by the way; I just decided) were road wins. It’s not like winning on the road has been especially difficult for Norfolk.

And, expect Toronto to come out pushing hard, hoping to get the Admirals off their game. Again, it’s been tried before, without much success. But, you know, whatever helps you sleep tonight.

According to some reports, Mike Zigomanis returns to play for the Marlies. Scott Jackson skated today but no word yet on the lineup, per Dan Marazza.

My advice to the Ads. Stay focused and stay out of the box.

Press:

The game tonight starts at 7:00pm ET and will be broadcast on internet/radio via 1021thegame.com but will be on national TV, as well. CBS Sports Network (click for channel finder) will air the rest of the games.

Finally, I also hear there’s some other tournament of hockey going on somewhere and some team from like New Jersey or something beat someone from Los Angeles (apparently they do play hockey there) and staved off their humiliation elimination. In case anyone’s interested.
