Caps and Habs… and Bolts? Lightning announce watch party

Miss Lightning hockey?  Yeah, you are not alone. Bad news is that you will not have it at your disposal until camp opens in September.

The good news is that Lightning fans have been invited to congregate at the XO VIP Club in the St. Pete Times Forum for a watch party tomorrow night. The action, of course, is the Washington Capitals hosting the Montreal Canadiens in game seven of their series.

This watch party will coincide with the live “Lightning Hockey Night” radio broadcast, which airs on 1250AM WHNZ from 7 til 8 PM and features Dave Andreychuk and host Matt Sammon. Masterton finalist Kurtis Foster is expected to be a phone in guest for the show.

The watch party gets underway at 6 PM.  For more information, please view the official press release below.

LIGHTNING TO HOST GAME 7 WATCH PARTY, LIVE RADIO SHOW

Fans Invited to View Washington/Montreal Game 7, Lightning Hockey Night

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning will broadcast their weekly radio show, Lightning Hockey Night, and host a watch party for Game 7 between the Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens for hockey fans in the Tampa Bay area in the XO VIP Club at the St. Pete Times Forum on Wednesday from 6-10 p.m. There will be free parking in the Forum West Lot and attendees should enter through the XO VIP Club entrance.

Lightning Hockey Night, hosted by Matt Sammon and Stanley Cup Champion Dave Andreychuk, will broadcast LIVE from the XO VIP Club from 7-8 p.m. on AM 1250 WHNZ. Joining Sammon and Andreychuk on the show via phone will be Lightning defenseman and Masterton Memorial Trophy nominee Kurtis Foster to talk about his career season.

After trailing their Eastern Conference Quarter-Final three games to one, Montreal has battled back to even the series at three games apiece against Alex Ovechkin and the top-seeded Capitals. The Canadiens have won two in a row to tie the series entering Game 7, which will conclude the most intense and exciting first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in recent memory.

Aside from being treated to the unsurpassed excitement of a Game 7, fans will also be treated to free hot dogs, chips, popcorn, soda and water. There will also be $2 beers and $3 well drinks. The Lightning will also be giving away prizes throughout the night.
