Evander Kane to the Buffalo Sabres in blockbuster swap
The saga of Evander Kane's ejection / divorce from the Winnipeg Jets organization looks to be coming to a close this morning as a blockbuster deal is being reported as imminent between the Jets and the Buffalo Sabres.
The two teams exchange their biggest trade-deadline chips, directly, as Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers is said to be headcing to Winnipeg.
Again principles of Jets-Sabres deal: Myers Stafford Armia and Lemieux plus a first for Kane and Bogosian. Could be other elements.

1st round pick Jets acquire will be lowest of 3 of the Sabres picks. Very complicated trade. Sounds like an unsigned player from Peg as well

What confuses me about the deal is what Buffalo is giving up for an injured player who will not contribute this season. The Jets purge their system of a distraction and beef it up for a playoff run.
This move, form the Sabres standpoint, could be a precursor to a wild off-season for the club as it retools for more immediate improvement than long-term planning for the club.
