Game 10: Tampa Bay Lightning at Nashville Predators

The Tampa Bay Lightning's 3-game winning streak came to an end with a 5-3 loss to the Nashville Predators.

A rough second period was the Lightning's undoing as they surrendered three unanswered goals within a span of less than five minutes after rallying from a 2-0 deficit to take a 2-2 tie into the first intermission. Mike Fisher, making just his second appearance of the season after off-season shoulder surgery scored two goals and an assist.

opened the scoring for Nashville on assists from

and Fisher. Fisher doubled the lead for the Predators with his first goal of the season with helpers from Kostitsyn and Smith. Two and a half minutes later, the Lightning were on the board with a goal from

on assists from Teddy Purcell and

. WIth less than a minute remaining in the period and on the power play, Purcell tied it up with help from

and

The Predators jumped back out in front at 7:43 of the second on a goal from Patric Hornqvist set up by Matt Halischuk and Blake Geoffrion. At 11:20, Nick Spaling doubled the lead to 4-2 with assistance from Jack Hillen and Jonathon Blum. Less than a minute later, it was 5-2 after Fisher scored again, this time with help from Spaling.

Starting goaltender Mathieu Garon was relieved after the second Fisher goal, having surrendered five goal on 17 shots. Dwayne Roloson stopped all 10 shots he saw in relief. Stamkos scored his second goal of the game at 17:03 in the third thank to assists from Martin St. Louis and Bergeron but that's as close as the Bolts would get.

Pekka Rinne, who has started every game for Nashville this season, stopped 29 shots in the win, the Predators fourth of the season and first at home.

The Lightning's next game will be Saturday when they return home to face division rival (for this season, anyway) the Winnipeg Jets.

• This was the 200th game of Teddy Purcell's career.
• Prior to tonight, the Predators had only scored more than three goals once this season, a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues three weeks ago.
• The Predators have beaten the Lightning three times in row.
