Injury updates: Killorn, Palat probable to return to lineup

Alex Killorn’s return to the Tampa Bay Lightning lineup is probable for Friday’s game in Minnesota after he missed Tuesday’s game for an unknown reason.

Killorn not only took part in pregame warmups before the game, he apparently gave an interview to NBCSN. But he ended up being a late scratch, bringing to a halt his streak of playing in every single game this season.

In an encouraging sign, Killorn was at Thursday’s practice in a regular jersey and took part in drills. Same with Ondrej Palat, who’s been out with a lower-body injury from the game a week ago today. Both players’ statuses are probable as the Bolts hit the road for a four-game trip starting with the Wild, who are only four points behind Washington for the league lead in points.

The status of Tyler Johnson, meanwhile, is up in the air. He missed Thursday’s practice due to the completely abstract “body maintenance day.”

After Killorn missed Tuesday’s game, Johnson is the only Lightning remaining who has played in all 54 games, a testament to how much the lineup has been wrecked this season.

In other news from practice, Brian Boyle and Andrej Sustr apparently got into it, which Jon Cooper liked seeing. Because it was “competitive.”
