Game Sixty-Six: Tampa Bay Lightning (40-21-4) at Seattle Kraken (31-26-9)

Time: 10:00 PM EST

Location: Climate Pledge Arena, the city that brought us Macklemore

TV/Stream/Radio: TNT. HBOMax, The Spot 102.5 FM, Lightning App

Odds: Lightning

Know the Opponents: Davy Jones’ Locker Room

We’re not going to go too in depth today. Zemgus Girgensons is back in the line-up (or at least he was at practice). That’s good news for continuity in the line-up, something the Lightning haven’t had a lot of this season.

Other than that, the Bolts have squandered the cushion they built prior to the break, and while they haven’t descended into must win territory, they are firmly in the it-would-be-really-nice-to-pick-up-some-points zone.

Seattle will give them a battle tonight, but play a style that might be a little more conducive to the Lightning’s current state. It should be more of a grind then they’ve seen against Buffalo and Carolina, and the Lightning, on a whole, tend to fare better against those opponents.

If the Bolts can get their house in order in their own zone, establish an early lead, and lean on the Kraken, it’ll be a good way to start the road trip. They know they’ve been their own worst enemy since the break, and childhood TV shows assured us that is half of the battle. Now they need to dedicate themselves to executing their game plan. Once they get there, the wins will start flowing again.
