Lightning reduce training camp roster by 18 players

This word just came in from the Lightning:

The Tampa Bay Lightning have reduced their training camp roster by 18 today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced. The Lightning’s camp roster now sits at 40, with 23 forwards, 14 defensemen and three goaltenders.

The following is a list of players and where they have been assigned:

· Brady Brassart Syracuse (AHL)

· Cedrick Desjardins Syracuse (AHL)

· Danick Gauthier Syracuse (AHL)

· Riku Helenius Syracuse (AHL)

· Henri Ikonen Kingston (OHL)

· Slater Koekkoek Windsor (OHL)

· Charles Landry Syracuse (AHL)

· Max Langelier-Parent Syracuse (AHL)

· Dan Milan Syracuse (AHL)

· Joey Mormina Syracuse (AHL)

· Eric Neilson Syracuse (AHL)

· Nikita Nesterov Syracuse (AHL)

· Carl Nielsen Syracuse (AHL)

· Drew Olson Syracuse (AHL)

· Evan Rankin Syracuse (AHL)

· Tanner Richard Syracuse (AHL)

· Artem Sergeev Syracuse (AHL)

· Luke Witkowski Syracuse (AHL)

Word had come down earlier today that Desjardins and Helenius had been put on waivers. Teams have until tomorrow to claim waived players and they must then keep them on their NHL roster or give Tampa Bay a chance to reclaim them before they can be sent to another league.

Adam Erne was reassigned to the Quebec Remparts yesterday.
