Andrei Vasilevskiy did not miss a beat, and while it took awhile for the offense to get going, the Bolts found their game and put the Kraken away late. Another win keeps them close to the top two teams.

Crunch defeat Rocket, 3-2 [Syracuse Crunch]

On Saturday night the Crunch made it two in a row as they took down the Laval Rocket, 3-2. Brandon Halverson stopped 16 shots and Conor Sheary had three points (1 goal, 2 assists). Jack Finley scored twice as the Crunch rocked their 1980 U.S. Olympic jerseys.

Crunch roster moves [Syracuse Crunch]

Syracuse has been tinkering with their roster a little over the last couple of weeks. They signed Spencer Kersten, who had been on a PTO, to an AHL deal and then assigned him to Orlando. With Matt Tomkins in Tampa, they also recalled Ryan Fanti to back up Halverson. Earlier in the week they swapped forwards with Springfield when they sent Kale Kessy to the Thunderbirds in exchange for Reece Newkirk. The 24 year-old was assigned to Orlando.

The Gr8 Chase continues as Ovechkin narrows the gap to 13 goals. He also tied Jaromir Jagr with 135 game-winning goals and tied Phil Esposito for the fifth most hat tricks in league history with 32.

Lindholm is done for the season, and there is no time table for Charlie McAvoy’s return from his injury and the ensuing infection he suffered during the 4 Nations Face-Off. Don Sweeney also hinted that some of his veteran players might be available at the trade deadline.
