This contradicts earlier reports but might make sense given the Bolts still have several RFAs left to sign (Andrej Sustr, Richard Panik, Brett Connolly, Cody Kunyk, Mark Barberio … plus Keith Aulie and Dmitry Korobov, if they’re brought back) and a UFA goaltender to find to back up Ben Bishop.
Of course, trying to read Tampa Bay Lightning tea leaves with Steve Yzerman at the helm of the organization is often a fruitless effort. Stay tuned.
