Lightning re-sign F Alex Killorn for 2 years

The Lightning announced this morning that they have re-signed center Alex Killorn to a two-year deal. Killorn was scheduled to become an RFA on July 1. A third-round pick in 2007, Killorn was in his first full season with the Lightning. He had 17 goals and 24 assists in 82 games, playing mostly with Teddy Purcell and Valtteri Filppula. No salary details are available at this time.

Expect Steve Yzerman and the Lightning to continue to re-sign their young, pending free agents, as they try to maintain the core of the group that brought the Lightning back to the playoffs again this past season. It will be an extended job for the front office. They recently re-inked Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson. Among the Tampacuse guys still without contracts are Richard Panik, J.T. Brown, Andrej Sustr, and Mark Barberio. This is, of course, in addition to any other negotiations, such as those with pending UFA Ryan Callahan.
