Lightning Round: Michael Eyssimont joins Team USA at Men’s World Championships

Michael Eyssimont is going to the Men’s World Championships anyway as Team USA have called on him to join the national team in Finland and Latvia. Eyssimont joins Nick Perbix on the team.

Team USA play Friday and Sunday in the group stage. The Americans will open the tournament against one of the hosts, Finland. The full schedule can be found below.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed goalie Matt Tomkins out of Sweden. Tomkins will most likely return to the AHL after two years in the SHL as a starter, presumably in a battle with Hugo Alnefelt as the Lightning’s backup or third goalie, depending on how free agency goes.

The Leafs don’t get swept. The series switches to Toronto for Game 5 on Friday.

Edmonton Oilers 4-1 over Vegas Golden Knights
Series tied 2-2
Three goals in the first were enough to tie the series at two for the Oilers against the Knights.

Erik Karlsson, Connor McDavid, and David Pastrnak have been named the three nominees for the Ted Lindsay Award for Most Outstanding Player as voted for the players. If you ask me, this trophy matters more than the Hart. By the players, voting for the best player.

Some of you know of Keith Jones (US broadcaster and former NHLer) but as a Canadian this is the very first I’m hearing about him. If you ask me, he’s clearly just a mouthpiece for the Comcast ownership, which is more of the same in Philadelphia.

SportsCenter host John Anderson called Zach Whitecloud toilet paper on air. Whitecloud quietly got his apology and wants to move on from the story, but spoke about the pride he has for his heritage and culture.

BGHC has done a great job of highlighting important supportive voices for bettering hockey culture and Courtney Szto is one of those people.
