Lightning Round: Michael Eyssimont joins Team USA at Men's World Championships

Michael Eyssimont is going to the Men's World Championships anyway as Team USA have called on him to join the national team in Finland and Latvia. Eyssimont joins Nick Perbix on the team.

Team USA play Friday and Sunday in the group stage. The Americans will open the tournament against one of the hosts, Finland. The full schedule can be found below.


The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed goalie Matt Tomkins out of Sweden. Tomkins will most likely return to the AHL after two years in the SHL as a starter, presumably in a battle with Hugo Alnefelt as the Lightning's backup or third goalie, depending on how free agency goes.
