The Tampa Bay Lightning take on the Florida Panthers for the first of three consecutive games to finish off the preseason. While the Lightning are the nominal home team, the teams will be clashing at a neutral site as the game will take place at Amway Arena in Orlando. For a night, the home of the Solar Bears will host the ECHL team’s NHL parent affiliate.
With the numbers at training camp reduced to a more manageable level, we’re likely to see a line-up that resembles what we’re going to see in the regular season. The next couple of games will iron out some of the remaining questions in regards to which players will constitute the bottom-six as well what the second line will look like. Coach Cooper will also be looking to finalize the special teams units over the last three games.
Hopefully the two teams will more or less behave themselves over the next week instead of letting things get out of control, you know, like one of the last times these two teams played in Orlando.
Katchouk, Perry, Maroon, Colton…. hard to believe this was only two years ago.
Following tonight’s game the two teams will meet again on Thursday in Tampa and then again on Saturday in Sunrise, the Lightning’s final game before the season gets started for real.
