LIGHTNING TO HOST STANLEY CUP FOR SUNDAY GAME VS. ST. LOUIS

TAMPA BAY The Tampa Bay Lightning will host the Stanley Cup on Sunday before and during their game this Sunday at 3 p.m. against the St. Louis Blues at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Arguably the most recognizable championship trophy in sports, the Stanley Cup was won by the Lightning in 2004. The Cup will be available to fans on the west plaza of the Times Forum from noon until the game starts at 3 p.m.

Once the game begins the Stanley Cup will make multiple visits throughout the St. Pete Times Forum. The Cup will make an appearance in the Channelside Club during the second period and then the Brickwall Productions Club in the third. Following the game it will be in the XO VIP Club.

The Stanley Cup, established in 1893, is awarded each year to the winner of the NHL’s playoffs. It is currently held by the Chicago Blackhawks. The Cup is the only trophy in any of the major sports in which each of the winners’ names are engraved and a new trophy is not produced each year.
