Manny Malhotra signed by Montreal Canadiens

One Atlantic Division rival made the first signing of Free Agent Frenzy as the Montreal Canadiens signed Manny Malhotra to a 1-year deal after previously trading Danny Briere for PA Pareanteau.

Malhotra was a candidate for the Mastertson Trophy last season after returning to the NHL with the Carolina Hurricanes following a career-threatening eye injury. He'll fill a bottom six defesnive/penalty killing role for the Habs.
