As we alluded to yesterday, and with his successful passing through waivers, Mark Parrish has been signed by the Tampa Bay Lightning to a one year, two-way contract and officially assigned to the Norfolk Admirals (where he had been playing on a try-out basis).
With the successful signing of Parrish as well as him passing through waivers, he may be recaleld at any time within the enxt 30 days without having to pass through waivers again. This basically gives the Lightning veteran forward depth without having to acquire someone through trade.

Veteran of More Than 700 NHL Games Signs with Bolts
TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Mark Parrish to a one-year, two-way contract, Lightning Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced today. Parrish has been assigned to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Parrish is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound forward from Bloomington, Minnesota. In 42 games with the Admirals this season, he has 12 goals and 25 points, tying him for second on the club in points and third in goals. He leads Norfolk in goals, points and plus/minus during the team’s previous 26 games with nine goals, 20 points and a plus- 7 rating.
A veteran of ten National Hockey League seasons, Parrish has appeared in 704 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars, recording 216 goals and 169 assists in those games. Parrish, who appeared in the 2002 NHL All-Star Game, was originally a third round draft pick, 79th overall, of the Colorado Avalanche in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. He is a six-time 20-goal scorer and reached the 30-goal plateau once.
Parrish, 33, appeared in 44 NHL games last season with the Stars, recording eight goals and five assists. Parrish has appeared in 48 career AHL games with the Admirals, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Beast of New Haven, scoring 15 goals and 29 points.
