The Sporting News conducts a two team NHL expansion mock draft

All the brouhaha and speculation is sure to wane as rookie camps and rookie tournaments commence in the coming days, and NHL training camps ensue shortly after… But for the time being, the frenzy of NHL expansion speculation builds to a crescendo with a mock draft.

Hey, the media has to keep itself busy until they actually have hockey to cover, right? So why not?

The Sporting News expands the NHL by two teams with their mock draft, Seattle and Las Vegas. In the process of stocking the two organizations, jabs were thrown at the Edmonton Oilers and two players were picked from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Former Lightning prospects Dustin Tokarski and Cory Conacher were also selected during this exercise.
