After passing through the worst of Hurricane Irma, Florida residents woke up to assess and begin repairing the damages to their homes the storm caused. The Syracuse Crunch have added another person to their front office. Matthew Thompson has been hired as an account executive. “Thompson will be responsible for selling ticket packages and single game tickets along with booking groups. He will also work with local businesses and organizations to develop relationships through business pack sales and sponsorships.” [Syracuse Crunch]

At a golf tournament on Monday, Montreal Canadiens head coach Claude Julien and GM Marc Bergevin insisted that natural winger, Jonathan Drouin, will be starting at center, and natural centerman, Alex Galchenyuk, will be permanently placed at wing. [NHL dot com]

The New Jersey Devils have signed 23-year-old defenseman Damon Severson to a six-year deal worth $25 million.
