Quick Strikes: Another loss, another injury

The Bolts

To add insult to injury – or I guess, in this case to add injury to injury – two Lightning forwards were hurt during last night’s game. There is no official word from the organization about who was injured, but Cedric Paquette and J.T. Brown are the likely candidates.

Steve Yzerman has not made a trade yet this season, but it’s not for lack of trying. “If there was something I could have done to this point that would make our team better, I would have done it,” Yzerman said. “We’ll keep trying.” [Tampa Bay Times]

Meanwhile, the Syracuse Crunch continue to generate points despite a completely depleted roster. Condra and Bournival were recalled in advance of last night’s game, leaving the Crunch with just 17 skaters. They still managed to pick up a point in an overtime loss. [Syracuse.com]

If you’re in need of some positivity, I highly recommend the 91 Days of Stamkos series by JustinG. Yesterday’s edition covered a classic Nike Stamkos commercial. [Raw Charge]

Winnipeg Jets superstar rookie Patrik Laine took a very hard hit in yesterday’s match-up against the Sabres. The Jets have offered no updates on his status. [SB Nation]
