Darren Dreger has suggested that former Avalanche defenseman Adam Foote, father of Tampa Bay Lightning first-round draft choice Callan Foote, is leaving the Colorado Avalanche organization to spend more time with his family. Will the family home remain in Colorado? Maybe it depends whether his younger son gets drafted by another sunbelt team. Come on down, the weather’s fine!
Report: Adam Foote leaving coaching role with Avalanche. “Foote, who has been spending time working with the Avalanche as a defensive coach since retiring in 2011, is stepping away from his development role to spend more time with his family, according to Dater.” [Sportsnet]

He was a guy that the management types of the Colorado Avalanche would lean on from time to time. Now, he’s got some focus elsewhere with his son Cal drafted high by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
