- Scott Stevens made a "personal decision" to step down as assistant coach of the New Jersey Devils for the 2014-15 season. Stevens played for the Devils from 1991 until his retirement in 2004. [Puck Daddy]

- Sad news to report, as Bob Suter has passed away from an apparent heart attack. Bob Suter was the father of Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter and a member of Team USA when they won gold at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. [SB Nation College Hockey]

- Days after the Lightning and the Syracuse Crunch renewed their affiliation agreement for two more years, the Ottawa Senators and Binghamton Senators completed a four-year agreement:
