”I think it was maybe game nine or 10 and it made me refocus on how to play the game and stuff,” Joseph said of his brief benching. “Playing Laval (the next game) where I’m comfortable [Joseph grew up across the St. Lawrence River from Montreal and Laval in Chambly] and I had a good meeting with Ben about it and I think my season kind of started going there.”

"You have to earn everything in hockey, especially spots. It's a good organization, good players here, so I'll have to work really hard to make that team."

"Coming into a new system, new team, new coach, obviously there's bumps in the road but you have to stick to what's made you successful in the past and find ways that you can improve on it."

The Prospects
FOX Sports Florida to televise 81 Florida Panthers regular season games in 2018-19 [Fox Sports]
FOX Sports Florida will televise the Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning preseason game on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. from the Amway Center in Orlando. The team’s neutral site matchup will provide fans with their first look at the Panthers ahead of the regular season.
Syracuse Crunch Roster Preview: Goaltending. [Raw Charge]
The newest member of the Lightning/Crunch goalie guild is Martin Oullette. A former 7th-round draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Oullette has bounced between the ECHL and the AHL over his career. Everywhere he’s played, he’s put up decent numbers culminating with his performance last season with the Florida Everblades as he guided them to the Kelly Cup Finals.
The Game
I’d like to posit that anyone who plays for the Habs is wasting their best years. [NHL on NBC]
Whenever and however his time with the Canadiens comes to an end, it will be a sad end to a sad story that has seen one of the NHL’s most prominent teams — even if in name only, and not actual results — waste and squander what should have been a franchise-changing gift from the gods.
NHL Looking to Get More Teams Involved in Outdoor Games. [Sports Illustrated]
The Coyotes, Carolina, Columbus, Dallas, Florida Panthers, Nashville, Tampa Bay and Vegas have yet to be scheduled for one of 26 outdoor games since the debut of the Winter Classic in 2008. Players from those teams understand why big-market counterparts are chosen instead but figure there’s value in spreading the wealth.
It’s Time to Wake up and Address the Homophobia in Hockey [Blue Shirt Banter]
Many of us have encountered fans who groan at the idea of an NHL team hosting a Pride Night. They fail to understand how important a transparent message of inclusion is to the LGBT community. However, they should be able to understand that homophobia in hockey is like a moat — it’s a barrier between gay players and their dream of playing in the NHL.
