Quick Strikes: Entry Level Contracts, Video Games, and Tampa Bay Lightning Reddit
All right. I admit it. I fell down the Reddit rabbit hole yesterday
The Bolts
Now that Ondrej Palat has been extended, Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman has completed his off-season To-Do list. “Our plan was to get [Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson] signed," Yzerman said. "We were able to get that accomplished and we're pleased that we could sign them to long-term deals and know that we're going to have them for quite a while. ... They really represent what we want Lightning players to be.” [USA Today]
If you love JT Brown (if you don’t, you’re wrong) you should probably check out his Twitch account where he live streams himself playing video games. JT is hilarious and super good at NHL17. He just created a Facebook page that has some of his favourite streams, I highly recommend checking it out. [Twitter]
If you’d like a blast from the past go have a look at this r/TampaBayLightning post with all of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Players Tribune articles. I hear the Martin St. Louis one will make you cry. [Reddit]

Syracuse Crunch owner Howard Dolgon will be holding a Fan Forum at War Memorial Arena on Monday July 17th. This will be a town-hall style open house where Dolgon will be answering all your questions regarding the Crunch. The whole event starts at 6pm and will be free and open to the public so even if you don’t have any questions, at least go for the free food! “The Crunch will also stream the Fan Forum live through the team's Facebook page. Fans unable to attend will be able to submit questions for Dolgon in the comments section of the live stream.” [Syracuse Crunch]

Top 25 Under 25
Before we dip into our top 15 Bolts under the age of 25, we want to hear what you think! I have put my personal rankings up in the comments section, I’d love to see you all do the same. If you don’t feel like you know enough about any of the players, we have you covered there with an article about every eligible player. [Raw Charge]
The Game
If you haven’t been following r/hockey’s roast of every NHL team, you’re missing out. The Roast of the Tampa Bay Lightning was on Friday, Saturday was the Roast of the Winnipeg Jets, and Sunday will be the Roast of the Carolina Hurricanes. [Reddit]
Several prospects got signed today:
First overall pick Nico Hischier of the New Jersey Devils has signed a three year entry level contract (ELC). Hischier got the max in terms of salary and performance bonuses: "He's been everything I had hoped he would be; I know this isn't an evaluation but certainly his on-ice skill set is really fun to watch. He's a really respectful kid and the way he carries himself I think is really nice to see and he has interacted well with the younger players and the veterans that came in. That's his upbringing, but it's been a great learning week for him and it's been nice to see the type of person he is as well." - Ray Shero [NHL.com]
The Vegas Golden Knights have signed all three of their first round picks. Cody Glass (sixth overall), Nick Suzuki (13th overall), and Erik Brannstrom (15th overall) to matching $925,000 contracts, with only a slight difference in performance bonuses (you can find their specific numbers here). "Cody, Nick and Erik have demonstrated exceptional skill and hockey sense playing at their current levels. We will look for these players to continue to exhibit the hard work necessary to further their development and continue their positive career trajectories." - George McPhee [NHL.com]
NEWS: We have signed Cody Glass, Nick Suzuki and Erik Brannstrom to three-year, entry level contracts.

The Knights weren’t done there, they also signed two of their expansion draft picks; Brendan Leipsic from Toronto, and Griffin Reinhart from Edmonton. Both contracts are for two years, Leipsic will be making $650,000 and Reinhart gets $800,000. Personally, I fully expect Leipsic to make the NHL roster in October, he was stellar in his Leafs debut and throughout the year with the Marlies. With the depth the Knights have on defense, it will be harder for Reinhart to make the starting lineup but he will get a shot at it in training camp. [NHL.com]
Couldn't be more excited to be apart of the @GoldenKnights for the next two years!!!
