Quick strikes and open thread for Monday, October 22nd, 2012

Regular readers will notice the change to the post title. You already know a “Quick Strikes” post will contain links. This is also a dump all thread, where comments are encouraged.

Well, that’s always been the intention with link posts – you don’t always have to focus on the links themselves – to encourage banter. I’m just repeating the fact here.

  • There’s a rich, albeit disappointing, bit of hockey history in the city of Cleveland [National Post]
  • Speaking of Ohio, Columbus Blue Jackets fans simulated a regular season game against the Vancouver Canucks last week. They did it with the Jackets regular radio personalities calling the game [Deadspin]
  • Is it a sign of a bored hockey public, bored NHL front offices, or simply business as usual for the league? Roberto Luongo to the Toronto Maple Leafs came up last week [Puck Daddy]
