Quick Strikes: The Syracuse Crunch release preseason schedule

Today’s news is all about prospects arriving, Nikita Kucherov, and PTOs!

The Prospects

The Syracuse Crunch have a pre-season schedule! The Crunch will be playing a home-and-home with the Utica Comets (affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks) on September 30th in Utica and October 1st in Syracuse. Now only 37 more days until hockey!!

After two years of visa issues, Tampa Bay Lightning 6th rounder from 2016, Oleg Sosunov, has arrived in Tampa and could make the move to the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL. “This year will be a big year for Sosunov’s development. The Lightning have already shown a commitment to him by giving him an entry level contract. It’s possible that that was necessary to get him to leave Russia and come to what should be a more favorable development league for him.” [Raw Charge]

The Bolts

Are you tired of hearing stats about Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov being other-worldly yet?

No?

That’s funny, me neither. #KucHEROv

(That was a nice season for Alex Ovechkin)

Slater Koekkoek has really improved the speed of his release!

Gearing up 🏒 @warriorhky

The Game

College free agent forward Alex Kerfoot has signed an entry-level contract with the Colorado Avalanche. “Although statistically listed as a bit undersized - the 23-year-old center stands at just 5-foot-10 and 175 lbs - Kerfoot can best be described as a late bloomer and incredibly hard worker.” [Mile High Hockey]

The New Jersey Devils have signed former Boston Bruins forward Jimmy Hayes to a PTO (Professional Try Out). Hayes is now allowed to come to the Devils’ training camp and compete for a contract (from any team).

Happy belated Birthday Anze Kopitar, who turned 30 yesterday! Are we all allowed to say he’s old and terrible and regressing now?

Stay safe, Texas <3
