Quick Strikes: Lightning and Crunch reflect, Dave Andreychuk to answer fan questions
A Sunday without a game is a day for reflection.
The Tampa Bay Lightning won their Saturday evening contest against Colorado 7-1, and assistant coach Jeff Halpern had a lot of positives to point out from his team’s performance.

Obviously it’s only December, so projections tell very little, but Lightning fans have to be happy with this little graph.
Point projections over the past fortnight.

Leafs now most likely to finish /second/ instead of /first/, so I expect much wailing and gnashing of teeth. pic.twitter.com/kYGQzyXDvs

Lightning forward Steven Stamkos has a dream. What kind of dream? A dream team!
How many players do you think would put Stammer on *their* dream team?

Syracuse Crunch head coach Ben Groulx was happy that his team kept pressing Saturday night against a very talented Rochester Americans team. Syracuse lost the game 4-3, a result that halted their points streak at 13.

Rochester now leads the season series 3-0, but Syracuse still has nine more chances to get wins against their North Division foe. Forward Taylor Raddysh knows what the team needs to do - play a full sixty minutes.
“We’re both very skilled teams and fast teams. I feel like we just need to play a full 60 minutes against them.”

If you paid attention to yesterday’s Quick Strikes, you would have noticed that it’s teddy toss season around the AHL. Here’s some photo highlights from one of my favorite times of year featuring the Crunch, the Colorado Eagles (Colorado Avalanche), the Springfield Thunderbirds (Florida Panthers), and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Philadelphia Phantoms).

In a continuation of the seasonal theme, Crunchman was also making the rounds yesterday.

Otto Somppi was loaned to the Orlando Solar Bears to help get him back into playing shape. It seems like it’s working:

Can someone do a welfare check on Calgary? I’m a little worried about them.
After recalling Alan Quine & Rinat Valiev from Stockton yesterday afternoon, the Calgary #Flames now have only $6,808 in projected cap space remaining.

The Flames also have 4 players currently on injured reserve with a combined cap hit of $14,044,166 (or 17.7% of the cap). pic.twitter.com/IfLWPMYhkk
Elsewhere in the hockey world, Northern Michigan goalie Atte Tolvanen scored the first goalie goal in program history. Love goalie goals!
