The Bolts
The Tampa Bay Lightning scored eight goals in a high-scoring affair against the Florida Panthers. “The second period began just as the first period ended, with the Lightning sleepwalking and making bad decisions. That got them into penalty trouble, forcing them to play defense and giving the Panthers momentum.” [Raw Charge]
Final numbers. Fun game unless your a goalie person. Aside from the goals allowed, one of the better games the Bolts have played this season pic.twitter.com/rRIWz3haQW

Should the Lightning keep Slater Koekkoek or Andrej Sustr? Why not both? “As I said before, Koekkoek still has time to progress and become a better defenseman. While there isn’t a clear spot for him in the line-up beyond a seventh defenseman right now, there may be one next year or the year after depending on potential roster shake-ups.” [Raw Charge]
Steven Stamkos has a very real chance at winning an Art Ross trophy for most points in a season around the league. His chemistry with Nikita Kucherov is one of the driving factors towards him being able to maintain his high-scoring pace. [Fansided]

The Athletic Detroit’s Craig Custance joined this week’s Charged Up podcast to discuss the Detroit Tampa rivalry and his new book, Behind the Bench. “From raking leaves to barking dogs (that only he could hear) Craig and I dove into the reasons why he wrote his book and also discuss some of the stories he had during the writing process.” [Raw Charge]
The Prospects
Crunch Corner: Here is your weekly round-up of all the things you need to know regarding the Syracuse Crunch, brought to you by our lovely Brandon M Curtis. “The early season woes of Syracuse have been well documented. After Friday’s contest, things didn’t appear to be improving. The Crunch were outclassed in just about every facet of the game and head coach Ben Groulx was far from happy.” [Raw Charge]
The Belleville Senators will be celebrating their inaugural home opener against the Crunch on Wednesday. “Wednesday night is going to be very memorable for the fans, players and staff and we’re trilled to have such an exciting evening planned.” [Intelligencer]
The Game
THE ARIZONA COYOTES HAVE WON A GAME! IT HAPPENED! [Five for Howling]
Arizona started strong (again), coasted to a 3-0 lead, gave one back in the third and then capped it off by giving up two goals in the final 90 seconds while the Philadelphia Flyers had an extra attacker. The opening lines of “The Sound of Silence” began to play in the fanbase’s heads, as this looked like yet another heartbreaking finish. This time the song had a different ending, though. Thanks to Alex Goligoski, Max Domi and Clayton Keller, who combined to score the game-winning goal in overtime and give Arizona their first win of the season.

Highlight of the Night: Erik Karlsson’s ankles were already broken, but Charles Hudon didn’t care, spinning the Norris winner out of his skates before finishing off short-side on Craig Anderson. [Reddit]
By the looks of it, Vadim Shipachyov will be terminating his contract and heading back overseas very shortly.

“This train wreck could be felt within the organization for years yet to come. But, hey. We’ll always have that one goal.” [Knights on Ice]
