Scotty Bowman and Jimmy Devellano shared their thoughts on this season’s Tampa Bay Lightning.
“I’d like to see the Lightning play that Detroit team,” said Devellano. “They’re very similar. All kinds of talent, goals coming from different places, a stud on defense, a good goaltender. Oh yeah, the Lightning could have played with Detroit.” [Tampa Bay Times]
You’ve probably heard that the Tampa Bay Lightning are really good this season, but here is another reminder. Micah Blake McCurdy made animated shot maps and The Lightning’s look both terrific and frightening.

NBC Sports wrote an article about Nikita Kucherov’s 100th point.
What makes this one so special for Kucherov is that he only needed 62 games to reach it, an unprecedented accomplishment in this era of the NHL. You have to go all the way back to the 1995-96 season to find the last time a player hit the 100-point mark this quickly when it was done by Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Prospects
Both the Syracuse Crunch and the Orlando Solar Bears are having Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend.
We have pink mystery pucks available on the concourse tonight for our Pink in the Rink night presented by @UpstateCancer.

Dan Craig, the NHL’s vice president of facilities operations, believes that NHL can organize an outdoor games almost anywhere. Maybe even in Tampa?
After staging outdoor games in a deep freeze (Edmonton) and summerlike warmth (Los Angeles), the NHL seems capable of taking hockey outside just about anywhere in the U.S. and Canada knowing the ice will be almost as good as the sheets found inside. [AP News]
The NHL Trade Deadline is tomorrow and our writer Hardev wrote an article about rumors from the Central Division.
Do the Blackhawks still see themselves as buyers and able to contend for a Cup? They might as well while they’re paying Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews $21 million combined on the cap and Brent Seabrook is refusing to waive his no-trade clause.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are probably preparing for Artemi Panarin and Sergey Bobrovsky leaving. After acquiring Matt Duchene from the Ottawa Senators, they’ve also landed Ryan Dzingel
CLB/OTT deal is Dzingel and Calgary7th (OTT owns) in 2019 for 2 2nds and Anthony Duclair

The Dallas Stars are also very active. They’ve acquired defenseman Ben Lovejoy from the New Jersey Devils
The Dallas Stars have acquired defenseman Ben Lovejoy from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Connor Carrick and a third-round selection in the 2019 NHL Draft.

And later Mats Zuccarello from the New York Rangers.
Zuccarello off to DAL, pending trade call, in exchange for 2nd round pick in 2019 and third round pick in 2020. The 2nd rounder becomes a first if DAL wins two playoff rounds. The 3rd becomes a first if DAL re-signs Zuccarello. https://t.co/umLH9n0IIQ
