Quick Strikes: Who is going to be the best in the Atlantic Division?

The Bolts

Erik Karlsson wants to come to the Tampa Bay Lightning wants to come here. That means a lot. [Raw Charge]

The fact that he not only wants to play for the Lightning, but actually be a part of the community is nothing short of spectacular. What owner Jeff Vinik and general manager Steve Yzerman have built here is something to be excited about, now and in the future, as well. Tampa has become a destination that superstars are considering playing for.

trace1114 continues Raw Charge’s summer Secret Santa series by picking out her favourite article by Matthew Esteves and talking about it. Yanni Gourde should’ve won Rookie of the Year by the way. [Raw Charge]

Being one of the relatively new members to the Raw Charge family, and learning about a new franchise completely different from what I was used to coming from New Jersey, I had a chance this season to read up more about my new home from an awesome group of writers.

So…why not volunteer to take on the Secret Santa project?

There’s a clear top eight teams who stand above the rest in the NHL, according to Bodog’s oddsmakers. What do you think of the final rankings? [The Hockey News]

Don’t look now, but the Toronto Maple Leafs are the leading candidate to win the Stanley Cup in 2019, according to oddsmaker Bodog. The Game

Looks like Pat Maroon will be joining the St. Louis Blues in the coming days. With acquisitions of Ryan O’Reilly, David Perron, Tyler Bozak, and now Maroon, the Blues improved their roster immensely at the top. [St. Louis Game Time]

Blues general manager Doug Armstrong strongly hinted at being done in the UFA market on July 1st, but if a desired UFA starts to show interest in signing with your team, and you can do it, you sign him. Pat Maroon’s name has been knocked around as a possible free agent target for the Blues, and it turns out he could be coming to St. Louis.

Over the weekend, the Vegas Golden Knights retained Colin Miller for the next four seasons after singing him to a $15.5 million contract. [Knights on Ice]

Golden Knights defenseman Colin Miller will now be with the team for another four seasons, for an average annual value (AAV) of $3.875 million. It was only a matter of time before Vegas put pen to paper with the 25-year-old, as there are very few players who ever make it to arbitration after filing.

Jack Eichel has changed his jersey number. Raise your hand if you know what his previous number was…yeah me too. [Die by the Blade]

“For a long time, the number nine has always been a part of my identity as both a person and as a player,” Eichel said. “The opportunity opened up to switch and I felt it was the right time to make the change as I begin the next phase of my career as a Sabre.”
