Quick Strikes: Tampa Bay Lightning’s JT Brown is first NHL player to partner with Twitch
Brown will donate the money to charities such as Hockey is for Everyone.
The Bolts
Tampa Bay Lightning player JT Brown got so much notice for his game-streaming ways that Twitch invited him to join its Partner Program. Brown will get some revenue from Twitch for streaming — but he’s donating it all to charity. "Brown explained to SportTechie that after a few weeks of streaming on Twitch, an email appeared from one of the company’s partnerships staffers inquiring about his interest in becoming an official partner. Now, he’s the first NHLer to join the Partner Program." [SportTechie]

Will the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Steve Yzerman decide to trade down at the 2017 NHL Draft for some immediate aid? Our guy Tom Hunter has some ideas about who he could pick at lower levels. “This is a team that had a tough season due to injuries that will be looking to compete next year. As a result of that, it wouldn't be surprising if Yzerman traded out of the first round for immediate help.” [Raw Charge]
Raw Charge’s head-to-head series continued yesterday with the Calgary Flames. Ben Bishop was almost traded there — twice. “New rule for Raw Charge recaps: if the Russian Bieber drops his mitts, it must lead the recap.” [Raw Charge]
There’s still time to vote!
Voting starts today and will close on Monday, June 12. #BestOfTheBolts
