Roloson “getting ready for tomorrow” and Game 5

2011_ecf_header_medium

Two sound relief appearances by Mike Smith are not enough to unseat Lightning goaltender Dwayne Roloson from being dubbed the starter for Monday’s Eastern Conference Final contest between the Bolts and the Boston Bruins.

Head Coach Guy Boucher remarked today after the teams arrival in Boston. He was asked about the team’s situation in net:

I don’t feel like we’ve got a situation. We’ve got a goaltender that has taken us here. He’s played really well, and he’s getting prepared for tomorrow. We’ve got a goaltender that came in relief and he’s done really well. So every time we ask him to come in, he’s played well, and we’ve got a goaltender that has taken us here that knows how to win and knows how to bounce back. So don’t feel there’s a situation there.

So… Roloson, coach?

Roloson is getting ready for tomorrow.

But… Just to be observant here, this was not utter confirmation on the starter. Dwayne Roloson is getting ready for tomorrow. So is Mike Smith, and Ryan Malone, and Dana Tyrell, and Vincent Lecavalier, and the other members of the Tampa Bay Lightning roster. Everyone (except, perhaps, the black aces) are getting ready for tomorrow.

Just know Rollie looks tabbed to start.
