Steven Stamkos will captain the Atlantic Division at the All-Star Game in Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos will put the “C” on his Team Atlantic jersey at the 2018 Honda NHL®All-Star Game in Tampa on January 28.

Stamkos will be joined by Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin, Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban, and Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid, who will captain the Metropolitan, Central, and Pacific respectively.

Ovechkin is 6th in scoring among Metro teams with 43 points (26g, 17a) in 41 games this season. Ovechkin is arguably the greatest goal-scorer of all-time who only recently became the fasted player to score 100 game-winning goals.

P.K. Subban is the third-highest scoring defenseman in the league — he would lead the Montreal Canadiens in points by a mile — and is an absolute treat to watch on and off the ice.

Connor McDavid is the Pacific Division captain and is the face of the youth movement in the NHL. He and Nikita Kucherov are the only players to score 100 points in the calendar year of 2017, and he currently leads Pacific Division players in scoring despite being on an Edmonton Oilers team that is 25th in the league.

The NHL also unveiled the jerseys for the game. Bolts blue for the Atlantic, grey for the Metro, black for the Central, and white for the Pacific.

The designers are “utilizing the primary colors from the host team as a base, the uniforms are centered around the native color palette of black, royal blue, white and grey, while a custom color treatment featuring the “energy” colors of UV yellow and solar red have been uniquely applied to evoke the warm, vibrant sunset tones and the energy of the Tampa Bay area.” [NHL]
